Introduction
We built these PC preform softening lamps for one reason: to fit perfectly inside Husky HyPET high-speed systems. It’s a simple promise—drop it in, and it just works. The heat hits harder, right where you need it, so preforms soften quickly and evenly. No scorching. No guesswork. This isn’t some off-the-shelf bulb. It’s built for the rhythm of a HyPET line—the fast cycles, the tight timing, the real-world pressure of keeping things moving.
Technical Deep-Dive
On a HyPET line, speed is everything. So we designed these lamps to keep up. High heat density? Check. It matches the fast indexing and the short windows you have to work with. The voltage and wattage are already dialed into the machine’s electrical setup, so you don’t have to rewire anything or rework the controls. And the size? It lines up with the existing reflector and housing, so the footprint stays the same. That means changeover is quick, and downtime stays low.
Material & Design
Inside, we use shortwave halogen technology in a quartz envelope. Why? Because it fires up instantly and holds steady, run after run. The coating is chosen to push the energy straight into the preform, so you get more absorption and less wasted heat. The connector is Husky-compatible, too. It clicks into the existing socket cleanly, which means fewer alignment headaches, less heat building up at the terminals, and better contact overall.
Application & Benefits
In a Husky HyPET system, the lamp has to get heat deep into the preform wall—fast. So we focused on penetration, not just a hot surface. The payoff is consistent softening, stable cycles, and far fewer rejects caused by uneven heating. One thing to keep in mind: high power density means the cooling system needs to stay in shape. Keep the airflow and coolant conditions within spec, and the lamp will keep performing. This is a factory-priced, engineered solution built to handle the grind of continuous PET preform heating—day in, day out.
