It usually happens the same way: thermal stress and structural fatigue just wear the lamps down until they snap. Then you’re stuck in that annoying cycle of unplanned downtime. One thing to keep in mind… Here’s the deal: more heat density means better cycle times, but it also means your oven is working harder. Since these lamps push more thermal energy, you’ve got to make sure your cooling fans are clean and the airflow is wide open. If your cooling system is clogged or underpowered, the oven will get too hot, and your preform consistency will start to drift. Keep the air moving, and you’ll spend a lot less time swapping lamps and a lot more time actually running your line.
