There’s nothing more frustrating than a SIG Blomax line grinding to a halt because another tube just burned out. It usually happens the same way: thermal stress and structural fatigue just wear the lamps down until they snap. Then you’re stuck in that annoying cycle of unplanned downtime. We built our replacement lamps to end that. They aren’t fancy prototypes—they’re simple, rugged drop-in replacements designed to actually last. Getting the heat where it needs to be We didn’t reinvent the wheel here. We matched the voltage and wattage of the original ADS specs perfectly. The goal was simple: high-intensity short-wave infrared. Why does that matter? Because it puts the heat directly into the PET preform. You get the temperature you need for a perfect blow without baking your oven chassis. It’s about heating the plastic, not the machine frame. Built to take a beating Standard quartz tubes are fragile. When you’re running a high-speed line with constant on-off cycles, they tend to crack. To fix that, we used reinforced quartz glass and beefed up the electrode seals. These lamps can handle the rapid temperature swings without giving up. And we kept the connectors standard. You can wire them up in minutes without messing with your sockets. The fit is tight, too. That’s key because it stops the arc-over at the terminals that usually happens when the machine starts vibrating at full speed. One thing to keep in mind… Here’s the deal: more heat density means better cycle times, but it also means your oven is working harder. Since these lamps push more thermal energy, you’ve got to make sure your cooling fans are clean and the airflow is wide open. If your cooling system is clogged or underpowered, the oven will get too hot, and your preform consistency will start to drift. Keep the air moving, and you’ll spend a lot less time swapping lamps and a lot more time actually running your line.
