When you’re running high-speed PET blowing, every millisecond counts. You’ve only got a tiny window to get that preform heated just right. If your lamps are lagging, you’re going to end up with wonky wall thickness or bottles that just look… off. That’s why we built our replacement lamps differently. We wanted them to hit the target temperature faster, period.
More heat, less waiting
Here’s the secret: it’s all about the wattage-to-length ratio. We packed more power into the quartz envelope to crank up the heat flux. The result? Your preform hits that critical glass transition temperature almost instantly. It’s a sharp, fast spike of heat. This means you can actually push your machine speed to the limit without worrying about the plastic losing its strength.
No fuss, no shifting
We used high-purity quartz because these lamps take a beating, constantly jumping from peak heat to idle. But we also kept it simple. These use standard industrial connectors, so you can just drop them in. No rewiring, no headaches. And because we nailed the fit, the lamps don’t budge when the rotary motion kicks in. If a lamp shifts even a little bit during that centrifugal spin, you get “cold spots” in your heating zone. Our lamps stay put.
A quick word of caution
Now, look—pushing this much power into a smaller space does put more stress on the lamp ends. If your voltage regulators are all over the place, you’ll burn through these faster. I really recommend double-checking your PID settings as soon as you swap them out. You don’t want to fry a brand new lamp during the first ramp-up. Also, make sure your cooling fans are actually doing their job. These lamps put out a lot of heat, and your oven housing needs to breathe.
