
Stop Wasting Bottles While Your Oven Warms Up
If you’re running a Sidel SBO 10 or a SACMI rotary line, you know how tight those cycles are. There’s nothing more frustrating than staring at a pile of scrap bottles during start-up because your heating lamps are taking their sweet time to hit the right temperature. That “cold start” lag is a pain. It leads to inconsistent heating and a lot of wasted plastic. We got tired of seeing it, so we built a better lamp. Getting to heat, fast. The secret is all in the filament. We used high-density tungsten and a very specific quartz envelope to make sure the lamp hits peak infrared output almost the second you flip the switch. It’s fast. Really fast. Instead of drifting slowly toward your target temp, these lamps snap into place. That means you spend way less time tweaking settings and way more time actually producing good bottles. They just fit. We didn’t want you messing around with rewiring your oven or fighting with a part that “almost” fits. These are simple drop-in replacements. We used high-purity quartz because these things need to handle the shock of rapid heating and cooling without cracking. We also paid extra attention to the connectors. In high-frequency rotary environments, arcing at the terminals is a common nightmare—we built these to stop that from happening. One thing to keep in mind… Because these lamps pack so much heat density into a small space, they work your cooling blowers a bit harder. Just make sure your ventilation is clear. If the oven can’t breathe, the ambient heat will build up and eat away at the life of the quartz. Keep the air moving, and you’re golden. We built these to take a beating in high-speed shops.
