
Stop Worrying About Whether Your Quartz Heaters Actually Fit
If you run a PET blow molding line, you know the headache. You need to soften those preforms, but every OEM seems to have their own weird ideas about dimensions and electrical specs. It’s a mess. We got tired of that, so we did something about it. We built our quartz elements to be true drop-in replacements. Whether your gear is brand new or an old workhorse, our lamps fit about 95% of the equipment out there. No hacking, no praying it works—just plug and play.
How we make it work
It really comes down to the footprint and the pins. We stuck with the industry standards—R7s and Sk15 connectors. Why? Because it means you can swap out a lamp without having to mess with your sockets or rewire your cabling. We also know that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to power. Some of you need a gentle 200W touch, while others need a 2500W powerhouse to keep things moving. We just tweak the tungsten filament and the quartz wall thickness to get the exact heat you need for your specific preform size.
The grit and the gear
We use high-purity fused quartz. It has to be tough because the thermal shock of rapid cycling is brutal. To keep the lamps from burning out too fast, we fill them with halogen gas. It stops the filament from evaporating, which means your lamps last longer even when you’re pushing them to the limit. And for those of you dealing with tricky materials, we’ve got specialized coatings. These shift the infrared spectrum so the heat actually sinks into the plastic instead of just scorching the surface. You get a better melt in the center, which is where it actually matters.
A quick heads-up on power
Here is the thing about high-wattage tubes: they put out a ton of heat. That’s great for speeding up your cycle times, but it puts a real strain on your power supply. If you’re jumping up to a 400V high-power lamp, just double-check your transformers and cooling fans. If the socket gets too hot, the lamp will burn out way sooner than it should. We keep these in stock and ready to ship. Because when a line goes down, the last thing you want to do is wait weeks for a “custom” part.
